The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the current onboarding process in IT services and to bring future development plans to the IT services organisation of Company X. The author of this thesis had worked a long period with the onboarding process in the organisation and had therefore brought a lot of her knowledge into this thesis. The aim of this thesis was to review the improved general onboarding process, and to provide concrete ideas for future development for the IT services organisation of Company X. One of the main goals of this thesis was also to provide the new IT service specialists with an identical, equal and high standard general onboarding process not forgetting the materials provided. One could think that the beneficiaries are the IT services organisation of Company X but also the new employees that start working at IT Services. This way the new IT Service Specialists gain a better understanding of Company Xs strategy, such as the values and the way of working. This helps the new employees becoming quicker, part of the working community with an aspect of doing the things the right way and performing with high-quality standard. In order to make better analysis two different questionnaires were carried out, one for team leads and one for service specialists. The aim of these questionnaires was to find out how the general orientation process and its development in the past year has affected; the quality of work of the new employees and the development of skills and the wellbeing at work. The questionnaires brought several development ideas for the general onboarding process. The theoretical framework of this thesis discussed thoroughly different onboarding aspects such as the definition, the methods, the legislation of onboarding and the wellbeing at work. One cannot stress enough the importance of a great onboarding process. The high-quality and well-coordinated onboarding can have a huge competitive advantage for the company and is for sure one of the main factors that raises employer branding. One of the biggest investments for the company is when a new employee is hired. In this thesis, the author also evaluated different processes linked to the onboarding at IT services such as onboarding, coordinating and the responsibilities of different roles. The thesis also covered the online training system and its materials, as this is mainly used for onboarding. The questionnaires helped to understand what are the parts of the onboarding process that work fine and which need more development. Some great development ideas were brought up. This thesis gave a good picture of the current situation of the general onboarding process for IT services and brought also some aspects on future development. The coordinating, the online training system and the length of the general onboarding process received mainly good response. The onboarding that was carried out at the office got high recommendations and positive feedback. The survey brought many ideas for development tasks. The tasks that were chosen where the ones that rose mostly from the questionnaires. These were remote and hybrid onboarding, online training system as well as the existing online training cources. The online training courses were hoped to be improved in a more interactive way of learning. The author would with her knowledge recommend IT services organisation to add a section of occupational safety and health to the general onboarding material. The author would also recommend that linking the IT services general onboarding material to Company Xs general onboarding would have a great impact on the clarity of the whole onboarding process, especially for a new employee....
